Just in time for Valentines day we are revisiting a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter that closed last October that raised a bit over $29,000. What was unique about this campaign, titled America in Love, is that a couple (who had just recently met), Melissa and Nate set out on a cross country journey to document love stories across America.
The entire odyssey is being captured on their web site called Loveumentary. Nate’s journey began when he questioned the true meaning of love – dealing with his own personal expectations and frustrations with finding the “one”. He began the Loveumentary project in 2012 starting with recording nearly two dozen in depth podcasts. Nate actually quit his job to pursue his ambition to complete this project back in 2012. In June of 2013, Nate was introduced to Melissa by a mutual friend. She had a personal goal of capturing 100 great love stories and writing a book about what she learned through the process. Perhaps a match made in heaven?
Jump to October of 2013 and they have crowdfunded the necessary funds to complete their mission.
