WebStart Bristol has fully funded their 2nd fund on Seedrs. This is the second round, launched earlier in March, at raising money to invest in companies involved in their incubator program in the city of Bristol in the United Kingdom. Similar to the first fund this crowdfunding round was listed on Seedrs. The listing was to raise £150,000 and now stands over funded.
Crowdfunding an investment fund was a first for Seedrs and the industry when Webstart Bristol announced their inaugural offering in the fall of 2013.
WebStart Bristol is an internet incubator opened in January 2014 following their successful Seedrs campaign last year. The first cohort of companies are nearing the end of the programme and these 10 fantastic startups have been mentored through the incubator and are now receiving investment from the Webstart Bristol Fund 1.
Fund 2 will fund the second cohort of companies on the programme running from May to July 2014. Each startup selected will go through the intensive 10 week programme of mentoring to deliver companies ready for rapid growth. Each will receive a an investment, mentoring, office space and professional services in exchange for 10% equity in the company. After the 10 weeks, each startup will present at a demo day to potential investors.
