The Dash, a wireless – two piece headphone – crowdfunding on Kickstarter has broken the $3 million dollar mark as over 14,000 backers have signed up to support the project. Their crowdfunding goal was initially just $260,000. Created by Munich, Germany based BRAGI, the unique headphones have positioned their product as an all in one device able to take calls, play music and a fitness tracker. None other than Kickstarter CEO Yancey Strickler is a supporter of this project. They have set a stretch goal of raising $3,333,333 – a hurdle that is looking easier every day.
In a recent backer update the BRAGI team commented on the achievement;

BRAGI also shared their prototype charging case. Just one step in the many required to deliver a successful product. Recently the creators shared that a microphone supplier, that they had intended on using, had cancelled the part they required. The team states this will not impede product completion though. While there has been some questioning regarding the functionality of the product, BRAGI has clearly caught the interest of many people proving market demand. BRAGI’s CEO was previously head of design at Harman – the well known audio / electronics company.
All Early Bird specials were quickly scooped up. The current entry point for these wireless headphones is now at $199. Expected shipping date now is stated to be January 2015.
