UK-based equity crowdfunding stalwart Seedrs has released a blog post on how to create a great crowdfunding pitch video. The post is a must-read for anyone looking to raise money via crowdfunding no matter what the model – equity, rewards or via donations.

As an equity crowdfunding platform, so also see the data and analytics behind who is investing in what and how potential investors behave when they look at a campaign page. We’ve learned several things about what does and doesn’t work for crowdfunding videos.
Here’s a short list of a few of the recommendations they make…
- Film the video in the same place where you work in an effort to bring the eventual backer or investor into your world
- The project creators should appear in the video in order to build a rapport and show that there are actual humans behind the campaign
- Ad-lib it… don’t seem too scripted and don’t read off a card next to the camera, as it can make the video seem less than genuine
