Just several days ago the Amplitude crowdfunding campaign by Harmonix Music Systems appeared to be stuck in the slow lane. Having raised a significant amount of their fixed funding campaign on Kickstarter the project was still far short of goal with only a week remaining. But what a week it has been. Backers have rallied to the cause and with a day left in the campaign full funding is within grasp. I must admit that our own writers felt this was a longshot but now we have egg on the face as 
organizers have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in just a few short days.
Amplitude is a rhythm music action game for PS 3/4. Harmonix is looking for funding to bring the game up to speed for modern consoles. The Cambridge, Massachusetts based company is known for gaming megabits such as Rock Band and Dance Central. The original Amplitude is 11 years old and a bit long in the tooth so to please their dedicated fans they decided to take the crowdfunding path for funding.
As of today over 11,600 backers have committed their money and time to support this campaign. Funding stands just shy of $740,000 – with a hurdle amount of $775,000. With a day left to go – and the velocity they have achieved – this should be a slam dunk.
