German investment crowdfunding platform SeedMatch has a new hit listing on their platform. Protonet quickly raised over 1 Million Euros in 3 hours and 33 minutes. In the first hour and a half the platform hurdled 750,000 Euros – over $1 million USD.

Investors continue to roll in for the campaign that has a stated limit of raising 1.5 million Euros. Protonet, a company that was already profitable and had completed previous financing rounds, has developed “the simplest server in the world”. Protonet earlier raised capital on SeedMatch in 2012 raising 200,000 Euros in less than one hour. Early investors in the offer were incentivized to receive one of Protonet’s devices so the offering was a true hybrid campaign.
Protonet’s server solution offers a secure, social environment for small teams and companies to 
collaborate anywhere in the world. The company basically offers the power of the cloud – without the cloud. Investors quickly saw potential in the small, yet elegant device and rushed to participate in the offering. Protonet offers the productivity of the cloud matched with data sovereignty. The idea for the device was driven by the regular revelations of large instances of data theft and the knowledge that some countries were frequently accessing private data. The weakness of centralized data was seen as an opportunity for Protonet – and obviously the crowd agrees.
