Pasedena, California based SterioVision Imaging (SVI) is a 3D imaging company that has developed a patented system for binocular. The company claims two “groundbreaking” products ready for commercialization including a wireless face recognition system with a range of 200 meters and a real time face image capturing system that converts 2D into 3D. With the technology now in Alpha testing, SVI has listed investment opportunities on crowdfunding platforms EquityNet and Crowdfunder. The convertible debt offer is hoping to raise $500,000 with a valuation cap of $12.5 million.
SVI is envisioned to aid in the war on terror as the company saw a compelling need for this type of technology following 9/11. Gregory Steinthal believes his technology could help by integrating surveillance operations into real time identification. This is obviously an area of interest by the US government (and many others I would assume). Gregory states there is no product like theirs in the market today.
StereoVision Imaging, Inc. (SVI) recently demonstrated its latest mobile, hand-held 3D binocular technology to government officials in the Los Angeles.
“We are very excited about the success of this live, field demonstration and we now feel that we will be able to extend our range out even further – to 300 meters and beyond. This would satisfy requirements of an even larger number of military and law enforcement agencies” said Gregory. “We also feel this same core technology can now be applied to fixed camera systems for a wide range of physical security applications; notably in law enforcement, retail and casino gaming. In order to move these programs forward, we have launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise additional capital to fund the beta testing, law enforcement agencies have expressed strong interest in participating in these tests. We are targeting Q1 2015 for products which address these markets.”
David M. Carlson, Ph.D. recently joined the team as CEO. Dr. Carlson’s background includes senior executive positions in a wide range of enterprises. Dr. Carlson has a BS in Math, an MBIA, and a Ph.D. in Engineering all from the University of Michigan.
“Dave’s ability to develop products that really fit the needs of the marketplace and his total commitment to serving customers, made him the ideal candidate to help SVI achieve worldwide success as the premier facial recognition imaging company,” said Tom Caesar, Board Chairman.
