The One Spark crowdfunding festival takes its first trip abroad this week by taking their successful model and crowdfunding focused event to Germany. One Spark Start – Berlin kicks off Friday evening and is open to the public all day Saturday. According to organizers, 50 original projects will be on display at One Spark Start. There are some possible perks for participants too, €35,000 in cash & awards will be divvied up among the project creators all determined by the “crowd” in a popular vote. The juried winners from Berlin will get to attend One Spark 2015 held in Jacksonville, Florida next Spring.
The main event starts on Saturday, 13 September at 10:00, with the opening of Creator voting and an official Welcome from One Spark Berlin’s Managing Director, Travis Todd and the opening keynote from Amir Kassaei. This is followed by a panel discussion examining the new legal regulations around crowdfunding at 10:35.
The Creator pitches will begin at 11:30, and will take place every eight minutes until 20:10. You can find the full schedule of Creator pitches, with a description of each Project, here.
The final speaker, Daniel Daboczy of FundedByMe, will be hitting the podium just prior to the closing awards ceremony. 12 awards will be given based on votes from the crowd and our acclaimed judges in the categories of Art, Music, Science, Innovation, Technology, the Berlin Prize and of course Overall.
