Philadelphia Company Launches Indiegogo Campaign For “First” Smart Patch Thermometer; Raises Almost $40,000 in Two Days

Fever Smart 1

Ready to create a new way to check for fevers, Philadelphia-based company Fever Smart launched a $40,000 Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign for a thermometer for children. The device is considered a “smart patch” that will keep an eye on any child’s health and help ease parents’ minds.  The campaign has benefited by several large “distributor” contributions with one backer purchasing the “super distributor pack” for $8000.  This backer will receive 100 of these devices when they ship.

Fever Smart 3Describing the thermometer, the Fever Smart team wrote, “You’ll never have to wake your sleeping child again to check their temperature. Using our simple device and your smartphone, you can easily track your child’s temperature for signs of fever. Fever Smart provides important information to parents monitoring their children’s health.

Designed with parents and children in mind, Fever Smart’s key features include:

  • Wireless; Allows parents to remotely monitor their child’s temperature
  • Easy to Use: Simple to setup: just insert the battery, download the app, and you’re ready to go
  • Alert: Parents will receive alerts when their child’s temperature begins to rise
  • Cloud: Parents have access to the data from anywhere using the cloud
  • Continuous: Fever Smart continuously monitors temperature and relays the data
  • Safe: With full FDA Certification and HIPPA compliant data storage, Fever Smart ensure families are safe.

The team noted that the Fever Smart is one of the first children’s products to have full integration with iOS 8 and Apple’s Healthkit platform. The system is the easiest way for parents to keep track of their child’s health.

They also revealed that they worked together with parents and children to create the best design and product for their users. They performed extensive testing to ensure quality, accuracy and safety.

See below how the Fever Smart is different from its “competitors.”

Smart FeverOne question, how does it work? The team shared, “The device constantly measures the child’s temperature and sends the data to a relay unit, which is any iPad, iPod touch or smartphone that sits in the same room as the child. This relay unit then sends the data to the cloud, so you can access the information from anywhere in the world via a smart device.”

Parents may also set individual parameter for temperature thresholds through the Fever Smart app.  One example of this would be if the temperature exceeds the set thresholds, the parents then will receive alerts so you can take immediate action.
