Kickstarter Creates Cool Visualization of Every Pledge for Past 5 Years

Kickstarter ShelfKickstarter periodically holds in house hackathons where the folks at Kickstarter get to work on their own creative projects they otherwise may not have time to do.  It is a cool concept used by many creative digital companies recognizing the fact the employees spend lots of time working on projects directed by others, but more often then not employees have amazing ideas just waiting to be created – given the time.

So the crowdfunding crew recently held their company wide “Hack Day”.   One of the projects (there were many others) was by Ben, Emma, Jackson, Katie and Kevin. The group collaborated to create a visualization of every kickstarter pledge since day one.  All the way over $1 billion.  It is kind of cool to see the dots spread around the world. See Kickstarter: a Visual History, below.
