WeziWezi, one of the fastest growing social media and Arabic content sharing websites in the Arab world, has raised more than 50% of its crowdfunding goal on Eureeca. To date, over $124,500 has been raised by 31 investors toward WeziWezi’s $242,500 goal for the 6.25% equity offered. Jordanian entrepreneur, Payfellow.com CTO and Founder and WeziWezi Founder Amer Al Omari brings his Arabic social community website which focuses on high-quality localized entertainment services such as games, articles and videos. Weziwezi allows users to connect with friends, new people and share with them free services and promotions; at the same time, users can follow news and receive updates through free SMS to their mobiles.
According to the Jordanian media startup, WeziWezi’s initial mission the creation of online Arabic content platform, thereby differentiating itself from other social community websites, but has grown to become a portal with greater access and entertainment options. With “zero marketing,” explained Al Omari in the informative campaign video below, WeziWezi has 3,000,000 unique visitors from Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Iraq. The combination of the 3M visitors and over 250K registered users has generated over 20,000,000 monthly advertising impressions.
Now crowdfunding on Eureeca to increase the monetization from the loyal WeziWezi community, funds secured will be used to hire a sales team in Dubai and to add more them and content to the platform to grown visitor numbers with the aim of reaching out to 8,000,000 unique monthly visitors by 2016. Also of note, WeziWezi competed and was chosen as the Jordanian finalist in the Middle East GITR.
