After Successful Campaign on Indiegogo, Gymwatch is Available for Purchase

Gymwatch device femaleGymwatch, based in Darmstadt, Germany, has announced public availability of their fitness tracking device – a product that was successfully crowdfunded on Indiegogo earlier this year.

The device raised over $160,000 on an $85,000 goal.  The campaign launched in March of 2014 with an estimated shipping date of July 2014.  This date was pushed back several months but now according to a company release the Gymwatch is available for general purchase after the pretail campaign on Indiegogo.  In a world where far too many rewards based campaigns deliver many months or years late – if at all – Gymwatch has successfully released their new spin on fitness tracking.

GYMWATCHThe patented Gymwatch Sensor claims to be the first and only fitness tracker that precisely measures the full range of both motion and strength expended in every type of exercise—over 900 of them—and with its companion app, offers real-time verbal and visual feedback to help users perform the exercises properly and get the maximum results from their workouts.  As opposed to most basic fitness trackers that monitor distance, steps and rate of workout – Gymwatch is designed to measure weight training in an automated manner.

“I noticed whenever I was working out at the gym, that people were either performing their exercises too hectically and on the wrong motion axes, which caused them to overexert themselves, or they were barely breaking a sweat, which indicated to me that they were not working out at an optimal intensity level. With the Gymwatch Sensor, we’re aiming to help people hit the exact right target for their unique fitness ability and goals. Gymwatch can show them the correct execution of movements and also determine the appropriate burden acting upon their body so that they can achieve the results they want, whether they are die-hard or aspiring fitness buffs,” said sports science expert Fabian Walke, inventor of the Gymwatch Sensor and co-founder and CEO of Gymwatch GmbH.

The product is available to purchase now with at a price point $50 higher than the crowdfunding campaign.  A single device will set you back $199 plus tax and shipping.  Estimated delivery is 5 to 7 business days so plenty of time for the fitness buff to receive one for the holiday’s.
