Designed for bikes, the Noke U-Lock is a tech accessory for urban cyclists and commuters. According to its description, by using a phone’s Bluetooth connection and the Noke app (which is compatible to iOS, Android and Windows), the user can effortlessly open their Noke U-Lock with the push of a button.
The FŪZ Designs team stated, “At the press of a button, Noke wakes up and searches for your phone or a shared phone. If the phone is within a few feet, Noke instantly unlocks so you can be on your way. No need to re-launch the app or remove your phone from your pocket or purse. It even works when your phone is asleep.”
Also explaining the lock’s security features, the team shared, “We made the Noke U-Lock exceptionally strong, but we think an extra layer of protection can give you some peace of mind. So, we added an alarm to the Noke U-Lock. Just like the alarm on your car, you arm it when you want it and it automatically disarms each time you open it with the app or the quick-click code.”
“We’re excited to launch the newest member of the Noke family. The Noke U-Lock takes all the features that make the Noke padlock so amazing and encases them inside a virtually indestructible steel alloy housing.”
Co-founder and COO of FŪZ Designs, Cameron Gibbs, stated:
“As an added level of security, we added an alarm to the Noke U-Lock. This extra layer of protection will give users additional peace of mind when locking up their bikes.”
The Noke U-Lock runs on a rechargeable lithium polymer battery which can last for several years. The Noke U-Lock is built of a hardened steel alloy, is water resistant, and is fully compatible with all Bluetooth 4.0 smartphones.
The Noke U-Lock is available for pre-order on Kickstarter for $99. Since its debut Tuesday morning (March 10th), the campaign has quickly raised nearly $15,000. It is set to close on April 17th.
