A Hawkes Bay-based company with reportedly new technology to treat wastewater has launched an equity crowdfunding campaign on PledgeMe so it can help clean up New Zealand’s environment. Liquid Waste Treatment Systems (LWTS) has developed new technology using aerobic granular sludge to treat wastewater.
LWTS spokesperson Tony Hocking stated:
“LWTS’s wastewater treatment plants will work well with local authority wastewater treatment plants, various industry groups such as, the food and beverage sector, horticultural / agricultural sectors and, in particular, the dairy industry. In fact, any large user of water.”
“Our technology is attractive because we can get cleaner water with lower capital and operating costs with a smaller footprint using minimal (working towards zero) chemicals. There has been a perceived knowledge gap in commercial applications of this technology, and LWTS is going to change that along with our crowd’s help.”
Hocking also shared that LWTS is crowdfunding because they want to give ordinary New Zealanders an opportunity to be part of an exciting opportunity:
“Our crowd is anyone who cares about the environment. People who want to start to make a difference, people who can see the potential and who want to be part of a success story. With our crowd’s investment, we will make a difference to New Zealand’s environment by taking small steps toward putting things right. Investing in LWTS, is to invest in a sound and long term stake in a company that will care.”
LWTS looking to raise a minimum of $850,000 and a maximum of $1.75 million. This represents up to 30.17% of Liquid Waste Treatment. Shares are $1 each and are non voting “B” class. Hocking revealed a successful raise will enable LWTS to finish its research program and take its technology to the marketplace.
“PledgeMe is proud to host companies that are looking to solve problems with the support of their crowd. This is an ambitious campaign from LWTS that offers a clean solution for a dirty problem in New Zealand and world wide.”
