Mind Lab Returns to Kickstarter With Temperature Device “Weather Point 2.0”

Weather Point 2.0 5

Ready to bring its latest product to life, New York startup and Kickstarter alum Mind Lab has returned to the crowdfunding giant to raise funds for weather station, Weather Point 2.0.

Weather Point 2.0 1Mind Lab’s Weather Point 2.0 is an individual keychain weather station. Measures temperature, humidity, UV, atmospheric pressure on smartphone (it is supported by iOS and Android). It can provide temperature, pressure and humidity measurements at anytime, anywhere. The company shared:

“Since we are all aware of weather changes that are affecting our lives and daily activities,  as team we decided to create Weather Point in order to follow up with such changes and have most accurate weather measurements on very current locations.

“Weather Point 2.0 helps indicate and estimate the time required to reach the maximum amount of UV rays to which you should be exposed in any specific weather condition. It is strongly recommended that you re-measure the UV Index at least every 60 minutes when necessary. Just like in the Sci-Fi movies!”

Weather Point 2.0 3Revealing how the device works, Mind Lab explained:

“Just plug Weather Point 2.0 into your mobile device and start our App. The readings will appear on your device at a blink of an eye! Weather Point 2.0 doesn’t use a battery or internet connection. It is powered by your device battery and doesn’t spend a lot of energy so don’t worry about recharging.”

Other than being small, can share weather details and fits on any keychaint, Weather Point 2.0 is also water proof.

Tech specs include:

  • Dimensions: 54.9mm x 11mm
  • Weight: aluminum 11grams, titanium 17grams
  • 4 passive sensors
  • Power: No battery needed

Weather Point 2.0 4Noting its limitations, Mind Lab added:

“Weather Point 2.0 is designed to measure the temperature, humidity, UV radiation and atmospheric pressure of your environment with your mobile device.”

Backers of the project can receive Weather Pint 2.0 starting at $19. They will receive the device in October 2015. Since its launch on Wednesday, the campaign has surpassed its initial goal of $25,000 and is currently at nearly $55,000. It is set to close on July 24th.
