Michael Bolton fans, get ready! The 62-year-old musician is looking to produce a brand new album and he’s seeking the help of his devoted followers to make it happen.
Recently, Bolton took to crowdfunding platform PledgeMusic with a mission to raise funds for the new record. He declared on the campaign’s site:
“You’ve all been asking about it and the time has finally come to announce plans for my brand new studio album. I can’t tell you the name yet, because I’m going to ask you to help me decide on what I should record next! I’m inviting you in on the journey from concept to completion. Hopefully it will challenge and inspire you as much as it does me, and I can’t wait to see what we all come up with!
“Here’s how it’ll work! Through the PledgeMusic platform, I can bring you into the entire recording process. When you pre-order the album, you automatically get unprecedented access to all kinds of behind the scenes photos, videos and other updates during the recording sessions. As I gather your comments and ideas, this project will start to take shape. Details of the album will reveal themselves as we go along. This is my way of saying thank you for being so incredibly supportive over the years.”
Backers of the project will receive not only the album, but other various awards based on how much they pitch in. These will include personalized lyric sheets, birthday greetings, in-studio visits and even live event VIP packages.
Sharing his excitement about the project, Scott Graves, head of talent relations at PledgeMusic, stated:
“We couldn’t be happier about the chance to assist Michael and his fans with an up-close and personal view of the marking of his newest record. This it the start of something great!”
A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Michael Bolton Charities, a organization that assists children and at-risk women around the world.
