Kicking Bird Pte Ltd, a Singapore based film distribution and production house, announced plans to launch a crowdfunding campaign on FundedByMe to raise funds for the production of the upcoming film Untot, a fictional horror film set in World War II starring Hayden Christensen of Star Wars franchise.
Untot is a fictional classic horror thriller written and directed by Kris Renkewitz, inspired by actual events during World War II in Nazi occupied Poland. Based on an actual event known as “Operation Paperclip,” the movie sees American and Canadian soldiers face their worst fears as they infiltrate a secret Nazi experiment facility.
The film’s synopsis reads:
“During a blizzard in the winter of 1944, an elite military unit of American and Canadian soldiers known as the First Special Service Force is dropped behind enemy lines in the mountains of Nazi occupied Poland. Their orders are to infiltrate a secret Nazi experiment facility, garner as much intel as possible and destroy the premises before sunrise.
“In one horrific night, these seemingly fearless soldiers face their greatest adversary they have ever encountered. They must fight to survive through the night.”
Kicking Bird Founder, Sherman Teo, shared that he has a passion for film production and that it is his long-time dream to bring Hollywood to Singapore. Among some of his successful investment portfolio, film is an area which he is eager to see added to the list.
“Untot will be a first step for me taking up an executive producer role in Hollywood films, with more planned in the near future.”
Kicking Bird is working with FundedByMe for its more than 55,000 strong member base of international investors. Founder and CEO of the crowdfunding platform, Daniel Dabozcy revealed:
“We are definitely stoked to have Kicking Bird on board with us and equally excited to see their first film go places.”
“Untot” is set for release in the third quarter of 2016.
