Following Indiegogo Success, CURB Energy Raises $1.25 Million in Seed Funding

Curb Take ControlCurb “power your life smarter” raised $117,321 this past August on Indiegogo.  Curb has since shifted to InDemand and remains available on the Indiegogo platform. Curb has now parlayed this funding to close on a seed round provided by “angels, strategic partners and Capital Factory” in the amount of $1.25 million.

Curb is a hardware/software package that allows you to monitor energy usage in your house or apartment in real-time. Hook it up to your breaker box and you may see exactly where all of your dollars (or Euros) are going.  Curb can monitor energy creation, so you know how much electricity those solar panels are kicking out.

Erik NorwoodErik Norwood, founder and CEO of Austin-based Curb, said the funding round was over-subscribed.

“Users and investors both recognize that CURB provides a better way to manage energy. We’re channeling that excitement into new partnerships and distribution pathways to make CURB a standard component in every home and business.” stated Norwood.

As part of the commitment by Captial Factory, Eric Gould Bear, a partner at the firm, will be joining the Curb team as “Chief Experience Officer”.

Norwood lauded Bear’s proven leadership and his potential to drive a unified consumer experience and effective brand strategy.

Shipping for Indiegogo backers, originally scheduled for September, is supposed to start soon.
