Brief: Dr Pepper Offers Up $65,000 to 14 campaigns on GoFundMe

Last week, GoFundMe’s CEO Rob Solomon announced that high-profile beverage company Dr Pepper gave $65,000 to 14 of its crowdfunding campaigns as part of its Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway.

Solomon wrote:

Dr Pepper“Dr Pepper helped each of these campaigns hit their respective fundraising goals. For Jonah of Ithaca, New York, the donation means realizing the dream of finishing his degree at Cornell University. Brazilian-born Lhias will now be able to complete her bachelor’s degree in nursing.

“Every day, I am inspired by the personal stories and generosity from friends, family, and communities coming together to support one another on GoFundMe. I’m thrilled to see a great company like Dr Pepper join in and demonstrate the impact we can make together.

Rob Solomon“Dr Pepper has a history of generosity and providing tuition support. It has awarded over $7 million in tuition since 2008. This is the first year that Dr Pepper has participated in crowdfunding to allocate a portion of the funds.

“To the Dr Pepper team: Thank you! We are thrilled to welcome you to our community of giving.”
