SpaceX (NASDAQ: SPCX) reported strong third-quarter 2026 results that underscore its rapid transformation from a pure-play launch provider into a diversified technology company dominated by artificial intelligence.
The company generated $14.6 billion in revenue, a 161 percent increase from the year-earlier period, while swinging from a $1.1 billion net loss to $4.4 billion in net income.
Adjusted EBITDA climbed to $8.8 billion, up 306 percent year over year.
Operating income reached $2.8 billion and diluted earnings per share came in at 35 cents, comfortably ahead of Wall Street expectations that had clustered between roughly 13 and 16 cents.
Revenue also beat consensus forecasts in the $12.7–12.9 billion range.
The standout contributor was the Super Intelligence (SI) division, which encompasses Grok, cloud infrastructure, and the recently acquired Cursor operation.
SI produced $7.56 billion in revenue, an 830 percent surge from the prior-year quarter, and for the first time surpassed Starlink as the company’s largest revenue source.
The segment posted $431 million in operating income after recording a $1.72 billion operating loss in the comparable 2025 period. Growth was driven by new cloud services agreements, rising enterprise and consumer adoption of Grok, and the Cursor acquisition.
Starlink and the broader connectivity business remained robust, delivering $5.25 billion in revenue, a 69 percent year-over-year gain supported by 13.6 million consumer subscribers.
Traditional space operations added $1.77 billion.
The quarter also marked a milestone in launch capability: SpaceX completed its first revenue-generating Starship mission, deploying 26 next-generation Starlink satellites.
Beneath the operating results, the balance sheet showed $1.573 billion in digital assets as of September 30, 2026.
This figure is consistent with the company’s previously disclosed holdings of 18,712 Bitcoin, acquired at an approximate cost basis of $661 million.
The reported value declined $64 million from the end of 2025, reflecting an unrealized mark-to-market loss rather than any sale; the cash-flow statement recorded a matching unrealized loss on digital assets for the first nine months of the year.
External blockchain trackers, including Arkham Intelligence, continue to show the same 18,712 BTC balance, largely held in Coinbase Prime custody.
No indications of additional purchases or disposals appeared in the latest earnings materials.
Heavy investment accompanied the growth.
Capital expenditures totaled $19.6 billion for the quarter, of which $16.4 billion went to the Super Intelligence segment to expand compute capacity, which reached 1.7 gigawatts of nameplate power by quarter-end.
Even after these outlays, SpaceX held approximately $89.9 billion in cash and marketable securities.
Elon Musk’s personal fortune, as tracked by Forbes’ real-time billionaires list, stood near $925 billion on October 20, 2026, up $1.4 billion from the previous day.
The bulk of that wealth remains tied to his ownership stakes in SpaceX and Tesla.
With the company now generating multibillion-dollar profits and expanding its AI infrastructure, Musk sits within reach of the $1 trillion net-worth threshold.Taken together, the results illustrate SpaceX’s evolution into an AI-led technology platform that still maintains a sizable, stable Bitcoin treasury while funding aggressive expansion from a strong cash position.
