This week, UK-based equity crowdfunding platform Crowdcube sat down with its #FundedClub member, HAB HOUSING, to discuss its growing business.

Kevin McCloudHAB HOUSING, which was founded in 2007 by Kevin McCloud, launched a crowdfunding campaign two years ago and secured over £1.9 million thanks to 640 investors so that it could continue expansion of its sustainable and contemporary communities, whilst becoming the developer of choice for custom build projects.

During the interview, HAB HOUSING revealed how many people are currently employed by the startup:

“At the time of the raise in 2013, we had 7 employees and now we have 12 full-time employees. We have hired a Commercial Manager and a Housing Development Manager along with a Landscape Architect and a Financial Controller.”

The company also revealed new contracts:

“We are on site with 5 homes in Oxford and are gearing up to start 50 homes near Winchester. We have just been selected for a 150 home scheme in Bristol jointly with United Communities and are in discussions on other projects ranging from 25 to 3,000 homes.”

HAB-Housing-21In regards to how the past two years have been for the company, HAB HOUSING added:

“We have delivered in terms of developing the infrastructure and systems for our unique model alongside the profile and reputation of the business. As often the case in property development, projects are a little behind where we had hoped, but we have a fantastic platform for significant growth.”
