Hoping to secure more funds to finish the film, Gosnell, creators of the film Magdalena Segieda, Phelim McAleer, and Ann McElhinney announced they were added a Christmas Special perk for backers looking to give more money.
Last year, producer McAleer and McElhinney launched the campaign on the global crowdfunding platform, which aimed to produce a film that outlines the story of Dr. Gosnell’s crimes. He was convicted in May 2013 after being charged for late-term abortions and other medical misgivings. Some have called him the most “successful” serial killer in the history of the world.
The trio shared in an update:
“This is the season of caring and giving and you probably already have a list of gifts for your loved ones. We wanted you to also keep the Gosnell Movie in mind this Christmas so we created a special perk for this occasion. We are editing right now and there are still a lot of expenses ahead of us: making a trailer, sound mixing, music and more. Every dollar we receive allows us to make a little better choices for the movie.
“The Christmas Special is $30 and it includes an e-card you will receive by email on Decemeber 21st as well as a DVD which you will get when the movie is distributed. This is something you can either get for yourself (who doesn’t like getting Christmas cards? 🙂 or you could make the donation for someone else and forward the e-card or print it out and give it to them. This is a great gift for someone who cares about this story and would appreciate that you supported our movie on their behalf.”
Earlier this fall, the trio announced that the film was finished and it is currently in post-production.
