Investment crowdfunding platform iAngels will co-invest in the NFX Guild’s Winter 2016 class of “handpicked” startups. NFX Guild is an invitation only accelerator for digital networks and marketplaces founded Israeli-American industry veterans James Currier, Gigi Levy-Weiss and Stan Chudonovsky. The 3-month program operates twice a year in the San Francisco Bay area. The goal is to uncover the next billion dollar company or “unicorn”. iAngels has staked a claim in the red-hot Israeli startup ecosystem. The platform provides access to early stage tech companies investing alongside angels and VCs. Founded in 2014, iAngels has already recorded two successful exits. The platform was given a solid boost earlier this year when Roman Abramovich’s fund, Millhouse LLC, seeded the company with $2.25 million. Gigi Levy-Weiss who is an advisor to iAngels stated;
“iAngels provides unparalleled access to Israel’s best deal flow. The company’s unique model of investing alongside Israel’s top angels guarantees the quality of the selected companies and helps accredited investors worldwide beat the odds and make money from this coveted asset class.”
Investors may now invest in NFX’s portfolio of companies for a minimum of $50,000. iAngels continues to expand as it approaches its second year anniversary with 15 employees and 25 investments in its portfolio. The company has recently announced a $15 million strategic alliance with The Thorney Group in Australia.
“After two years of bringing Israel’s exclusive early-stage deal flow to our global investment community, our investors will now gain access to a diversified and prestigious portfolio of Israeli and US early-stage technology companies that have passed through a rigorous screening process and received mentorship from some of the most respected entrepreneurs and investors in the world,” stated Shelly Hod Moyal, co-founder of iAngels.
David Assia, Executive Chairman of iAngels explains;
“Crowdfunding is the next wave to disrupt the time-consuming careful diligence that angel investors have to do, to find hot innovations and do due diligence on their plans, patents and teams. And the iAngels team is the best of the best of the next generation of Israeli visionaries and trend-spotters — poised to seed the next generation of Israeli success stories.”
