Get excited, Exploding Kittens fans – your favorite inappropriate cat-themed card game is now available for iPhones!
Exploding Kittens, which successfully secured $8,782,571 from 219,382 backers on Kickstarter, is described as a highly strategic kitty-powered version of Russian Roulette. Players take turns drawing cards until someone draws an exploding kitten and loses the game.
The deck is made up of cards that let you avoid exploding by peeking at cards before you draw, forcing your opponent to draw multiple cards, or shuffling the deck. The game gets more and more intense with each card drawn because fewer cards left in the deck means a greater chance of drawing the kitten and “exploding in a fiery ball of feline hyperbole.”
According to the Verge, the mobile port was handled by design studio Substantial, and the developers noted it’s still a work in progress, as several features have been omitted for the initial release. iPhone users can purchase the game for the price of $1.99 ( for the first few days after launch all in-app purchases are free).
It was also revealed that an Android version is currently in the works.
