The global crowdfunding platform, Indiegogo, announced this week its new feature, “Secret Perks.” This will allow campaign organizers to reward early supporters and backers in a different kind of way.
The Indiegogo team revealed in a blog post:
“Not only will your backers receive an exclusive perk curated just for them, but you will also do a better job setting up your campaign for success.”
A secret perk is described as a perk that can only be accessed through a super secret special link. Backers who have the unique link are able to see the perk. To receive a special perk is fairly easy. Simply click on the “Add Secret Perk” option with sunglasses, copy the link, and backers are ready to go.
The funding portal noted:
“Secret perks work best when you want to offer exclusive items to the people who have supported you the most. They’re a great way to build your community further by making your backers feel special and that their efforts are being recognized and rewarded.”
Indiegogo then went on to reveal five ways that campaign organizers may use secret perks:
- Show early supporters your appreciation
- Create exclusive offers for those who attend events for the project
- Helps boost funding momentum mid-campaign
- Able to offer a flash sale
- Cross promote with other secret perk campaigns
The Indiegogo crew went on to add:
“There are tons of unique ways for you to use secret perks to maximize your campaign. We love how the Indiegogo community has already been using our new feature.”
