On Tuesday, peer-to-peer lender, Wellesley & Co., announced that Peter Stott has joined the board of Wellesley Group as a non-executive director. The appointment is another major milestone for Wellesley and follows the recent senior appointments of group chief risk officer Stephen Bell and managing director Nick McAuliffe.
According to Wellesley, Stott is considered an experienced and respected figure in the finance world and has held senior positions both in the UK and US. Stott joins Wellesley from investment bank, Greenhill & Co, where he was a managing director and senior adviser since 2005.
Peter Stott joins Wellesley’s experienced board, including ex-Lloyds Banking Group CEO Eric Daniels, Michael Hatchard, head of the English law practice at leading international law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, and David Godfrey, until recently Chief Executive of UK Export Finance.
“We are delighted to welcome Peter to the board at Wellesley. Peter is highly respected in financial services and brings best-in-class investment banking, governance and risk management experience. The alternative finance market is accelerating in the UK and Peter has a maturity and an unrivalled depth of knowledge that the industry needs.”
Peter Stott added:
“I am very pleased to have joined the Wellesley Group board. Wellesley has an attractive business model in a fast-growing sector. Also, it has a talented executive team and a high quality board of directors, led by Eric Daniels.”
