On Tuesday, Virgin Media Business launched its search for the most innovative and exciting businesses with the UK and Ireland’s pitch competition called VOOM 2016. It was revealed that Crowdfunder UK will be partnering with Virgin by powering the contest.
According to Virgin Media Business, the competition gives entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized businesses the opportunity to pitch their ideas to Sir Richard Branson and win a prize fund worth over £1million.
Sir Richard Branson, Virgin Group Founder, stated:
“Welcome to the biggest, most valuable and influential business competition in the country. Virgin Media Business’s ‘VOOM 2016’ provides the golden ticket to propel your business onto a global stage and fast-track your way to success. Last year’s winners are testament to this. Launching a new business or going it alone takes dedication and determination, if you’ve got that in spades then grab this life-changing opportunity and enter today. With all of the support and advice available throughout the competition – and the chance to raise some funds if you campaign hard enough – what have you got to lose?”
Crowdfunder UK’s founder and executive chairman, Rob Love commented:
“We are really excited about supporting Britain’s best future entrepreneurs. If every VOOM 2016 supporter put in ten pounds, your business could raise thousands – as you win votes.
He then added:
“Being part of Virgin Media Business VOOM 2016 builds on our wider relationship with the Virgin family: our partnership with Virgin Start Up has already started to reap rewards for crowdfunded projects – pre validating loans, helping them get the support they need.”
Winners of the crowdfunding portion of the contest will receive the following:
- an additional £50K cash on top of funding
- a marketing and media support campaign
- a ticket to the VOOM 2016 final
