Evil Dead 2 fans, get ready for a game that will make you fall in love with the crazy, the bloody and sometimes super frightening film all over again. Space Goat Productions, Inc. recently launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter with a mission to raise only $70,000 for the movie’s official board game. Within less than a week, the project has successfully surpassed its initial goal and is currently sitting at $240,000 thanks to over 3200 backers.
The game, which is officially licensed, is described as a tabletop experience that all Evil Dead 2 fans have been waiting for. It features eight custom figures that are iconic characters, monsters, and locales from the hit 1987 film.
“2-6 players will work together in 60–90 minute sessions to gather pages of the Ex-Mortis while trying to survive demon attacks, supernatural events, and avoid turning into evil deadites themselves.”
Space Goat Productions explained each player are to explore the cabin for missing pages of the infamous book, Ex-Mortis. Once the players find all the pages, they can open a portal to banish the Kandarian Demons and beat the game. Other obstacles include Deadites, Ash’s hand, the tree and the deadline versions of the players. The game’s standard edition comes with characters Linda, Ash, Annie, Ed, Jake, Bobby Jo, and the Severed Hand.
Those looking to purchase the game may receive it through the Kickstarter campaign starting at $60. Other rewards include Evil Dead 2: Beyond by Dawn graphic novel, comic book cameo, random sucker event card, and even become a receipt of the Deadite army. The delivery of the game is scheduled for November 2016.
The campaign is set to close on August 10th.
