Equity crowdfunding platform Seedrs announced this week that it is the headline sponsor of TechNorth’s Northern Stars, a pitch competition that is seeking to identify and showcase the best North of England tech startups.
Seedrs stated that over the past thirty years North of England’s tech startups has been on the rise. The funding portal noted that the GP Bullhouse research revealed that the North’s 50 fast-growing tech business have almost doubled their revenues in 2015 to £1.12 billion. Nearly 300,000 regional jobs have reportedly been created. As part of the competition, TechNorth will do a series of regional pitch events and select ten winning companies to be chosen by a panel of judges.

To apply for Northern Stars, companies must be a digital tech startup that is based in the North of England, have raised less than 2 million in investment, and have a live product in the market with customer traction. Check out last year’s competition details below.
