On Tuesday, Burlington Stores announced it has secured over $850,000 through its DonorsChoose education campaign, which was announced in May. This is the second time the retail store has teamed up with the crowdfunding platform to help classrooms nationwide.
Last year, Burlington funded 120 school projects, filtering over $83,000 into public schools, benefitting 12,673 students and 107 teachers. These activities aided classrooms located within communities surrounding the retailer’s new store openings this past spring. And this fall, Burlington is continuing to fund local school projects surrounding their store openings over the next few months.
Charles Best, founder of DonorsChoose, stated:
“We are deeply thankful for Burlington Stores’ support in raising awareness and funds through its customers to help thousands of students nationwide. It’s exciting that we’re able to reach so many students and teachers through these generous efforts.”
Tom Kingsbury, chairman and CEO of Burlington Stores, added:
“One of the core values for us at Burlington is giving back to the communities in which we live and work, and I am thankful to our caring customers and associates nationwide that have helped to make this partnership a success, allowing students to have the tools and experiences needed for a great education.”
