One week after launching its equity crowdfunding campaign on Seedrs, London-based healthy meal delivery service, Mindful Chef, has successfully secured its initial  £400,000 funding goal.

Mindful Chef Food 2As previously reported, Mindful Chef is described as a young company that makes healthy eating easy by delivering all the good-for-you ingredients to create meals. The brand offers gluten-free, organic produce with no refined carbohydrates to homes across the UK. Customers choose the recipes, Mindful Chef source and deliver the ingredients. The customer cooks the meal, saving time and minimizing waste.

Since its launch two years ago, Mindful Chef has reportedly experienced a 25% month-on-month growth and has a £1 million gross order value, with an average order spend of £36. Additional funding will be used for marketing, technology and launching new products.

Within just hours of its Seedrs debut, Mindful Chef’s  campaign captured 45% of its funding goal, which might be because the Beckhams and members of the England Rugby team, are all fans of the growing brand. Former Global Chief Strategy Officer of Interbrand and one of Mindful Chef’s investors, Leslie Butterfield recently stated:

Mindful_Chef_6“This is one of the most promising brands in one of the strongest growth markets right now. High-quality product, talented team and major growth market – that makes for a very powerful brand! I’m really excited to be supporting the Mindful Chef team as they build a great business and a powerful brand for the future.”

Founders, Robert Grieg-Gran, Giles Humphries and Myles Hopper, along with the rest of the Mindful Chef team announced on Thursday the campaign’s extended funding target is now £750,000.

“Thank you to everybody who has invested so far! Within a week we have hit our initial target. £400,000 was the minimum we needed to make the business successful. To accelerate our plans we would like to raise up to £750,000 so there is still plenty of opportunity to get involved if you have not already.”
