Douw&Koren, a Dutch crowdfunding consulting group, has reported that €86 million was crowdfunded in the Netherland during the first half of 2016. This is a record amount but the authors of the report caution that industry growth is slowing.
The last report provided by Douw & Koren was back in January when the firm provided annual figures. At that time they reported crowdfunding had increased over 200% in the Netherlands during 2015 to €128 million.
In the past 6 months, over 2700 projects have been successfully funded in the Netherlands. The report covers rewards, donations and investments.
D&K states that over 700 businesses raised capital with an average funding round of €94,000. In aggregate €67 million went to SMEs.
- Creative projects raised €8.9 million at an average of €16,000 each.
- Social projects raised €8.1 million at an average of €6400
- Consumer lending came in at €1.7 million
- Creative projects make up the rest of the total of about €8.9 million.
