No Vacation for “Crowdlending” in France

Crowdlending.fr  has published a “barometer of activity” regarding online lending performance. As many people know, things tend to slow dow during the summer in France. Especially in July and August as the population heads for the beaches in the south or the west.  But the summer slowdown is apparently not impacting the online lender sector. The report indicates that July was the 2nd best month ever since the barometer was launched. For the platforms covered, lending totaled €7.578 million for 74 projects. If you compare the sector versus the same month last year, the industry grew by over 300%. The average interest rate stood at 7.31%.  Lendix, the largest marketplace lender in France, took first place for the month with both Unilend and Lendosphere having very good months.

The total amount originated for year to date was around €42 million.  While a year ago there were only 9 platforms tracked, today there are 14.
