On Thursday, Pfizer announced Arizona startup, Alchemi Labs, was dubbed winner of its Get Old contest. Earlier this summer, the pharmaceutical giant announced it was teaming up with Indiegogo to launch the initiative, which highlights innovations that can make life “better” as people age.
The “best of the best” campaigns were featured on Pfizer’s Get Old Facebook page, and the winner (Alchemi) received a $50,000 grant and a trip to Pfizer’s headquarters in New York where they will brainstorm and workshop their ideas. Pfizer declared the exciting news:

Alchemi Labs launched its Indiegogo campaign a couple months ago and secured $25,732 from 566 backers for its self-titled sun hats, which reflects the sun’s heat and blocked 99.8% of UV rays with a tested UPF over 800. Inside each hat has designed moisture wicking sweatbands that are combined with ventilation techniques geared to create a sunhat that helps the user protected, cooler, and comfortable.
