Brief: Indiegogo Alum “She Started It” To Be Featured at the 2016 Mill Valley Film Festival

She Started It

The creators of the Indiegogo funded film, She Started It, recently announced it is set to be featured at the 2016 Mill Valley Film Festival, which will take place in San Rafael, California from October 6th to October 16th.

She Started It is described as a documentary that aims to dispel myths and spotlight women who in the tech entrepreneur industry. The film profiles five women, Stacey Ferreira, Thuy Truing, Brine Ghafourifa, Sheena Allen and Agathe Molinar.

The film follows a few of these young entrepreneurs over the course of 2+ years and illuminates the ups and downs they face as they attempt to build their new businesses, for the first time in an exciting, narrative, story driven film. By showcasing these young role models, we hope to ignite that spark, ‘If she could do it, I could do it!’”

She Started It was directed by journalists Nora Poggi and Insiyah Saeed. The film raised nearly $50,000 from two Indiegogo campaigns. Showing support for the documentary, the global crowdfunding platform shared:
