On Wednesday, SyndicateRoom announced the equity crowdfunded movie Salty has finished the filming stage of its production. As previously reported, the project first appeared on SyndicateRoom in 2014 and the offer allowed smaller investors to participate in the film project for as little as £1,000. The film’s campaign successfully raised £1.9 million.
The production was led by successful director/producer Simon West, who has been involved in many well-known films including, Tomb Raider, Con Air, Black Hawk Down and Expendables 2. West’s films have grossed over $1 billion in global box office receipts. The story line for Salty is described as “Spinal Tap meets The Hangover” with a good bit of British humor. The film starred Antonio Banderas and Olga Kurylenko.
SyndicateRoom declared those who invested in the film are able to see exclusive behind-the-scene content from the film’s set in Chile, which includes a personal recorded message from Banderas himself.
