Daily Dose, a juice company, launched an equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube this week to raise £75,000 to increase its online presence. The company is based in London and began trading earlier this year. It is currently stocked in numerous independent cafes and restaurants.
The company currently produced 100% fresh unprocessed cold pressed juice. It delivers its products twice a week to cafes, coffee shops, and restaurants. It also produces bulk “white label” juice that is offered to a higher volume customer.
“Daily Dose aims to get the freshest possible juice to the consumer. In order to over come the short shelf life we based our distribution on the ‘milk man model’ which allows us to collect empty bottles and offer regular delivery. We recycle the bottles, without having to waste labels and our estimates suggest an average of 75% bottle return rate, making the glass cheaper than a plastic alternative.”
The Daily Dose team also revealed the first cafe they approached took 24 juices over the first week and currently takes more than 200 a week. They are now looking to sell detox cleanses, which will be sold cleansing parties, and online subscription packs. Sharing more details about how the campaign’s funds will be used, Daily Dose noted:
“Daily Dose has leased new premises and proposes to build a new kitchen and cold store, to provide the capacity necessary to compete for larger contracts. We aim to have a mezzanine landing installed over the kitchen and cold store to maximize the usable space and provide storage for a bulk order of bottles, which would reduce bottle costs. We also aim to expand the team and build a new website to help grow online sales.”
Since its launch, the campaign has secured over £60,000 from more than 70 investors. It is set to close mid-October.
