On Wednesday, Super Troopers 2 star Paul Soter announced that the highly anticipated comedy is heading into the post-production phase. In an update post, Soter stated that the cast and crew already had their wrap party, even though there was still about a week to be shot. He then revealed:
“Excited to move into the post-production phase of the project and getting this thing closer to being released into the loving arms of the film-going public. Based on the response from our social media blasts, it’s hard not to feel like a bunch of folks are looking forward to it as much as we are.”
Filming studio Broken Lizard originally sought to raise $2 million for Super Troopers 2 last year, just 14 years after the first film’s release at the 2001 Sundance Festival. The crew revealed that the movie would only be made if the Indiegogo campaign completely raised $2 million. The film will star Jay Chandrasekhar (starring and directing), Paul Soter, Steve Lemme, Erik Stolhanske, Kevin Heffernan, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Rob Lowe, Hayes MacArthur, Tyler Labine and Will Sass0.
Recently, Broken Lizard announced since the campaign has successfully surpassed $4.5 million, the studio filmed with live bears on the set. During a recent update, the Broken Lizard crew stated:
“Let’s get the Indiegogo past $4.5M, we said. We’ll put LIVE BEARS in the movie, we said.”
The plot is currently unknown.
