Desmond & Dempsey, a London-based luxury sleep brand, has recently launched an equity crowdfunding campaign on Angels Den to raise £100,000. The company stated it was launched its women’s “pyjama” that was designed as a “his shirt for her.” Co-founder Joel Jeffery explained:
“We’ve taken my shirt, reimagined it for the bedroom and tailored it for her. Our prints are exclusive, hand painted here in London and inspired by our Sunday adventures. We only work with top quality cottons and our pyjamas are made to last.”
The Desmond & Dempsey team also noted through the company’s website alone they have sold more than 2,000 pairs of pajamas and to date has generated nearly 200,000 in revenue. The sleepwear brand revealed it would be rolling out its first men’s collection this holiday season and future products will include bed linens and childrenswear. The company also noted:
“Desmond & Dempsey have recently had a record month, turning over £30,000 in gross revenue online resulting from press coverage in the New York Times and Vogue USA. Since then we have seen a huge increase in orders from the US, with the which now represents roughly 40% of our revenue. This funding will directly allow us to strategically scale up US and UK markets and expanding our product range before our competitors make the move.”
Funds from the Angels Den campaign will be used towards production and marketing. The company noted that investing in two areas will scale up its online growth and service new markets. So far, the initiative has successfully secured nearly £35,000. It is set to close at the end of October.
