On Thursday, Kickstarter and Indiegogo alum Knix Wear has released a limited edition Evolution Bra that is especially for breast cancer treatment and prevention. The clothing launch is part of the company’s new FivebyFive campaign.
The company revealed that the limited edition Evolution Bras will feature the same innovative 8-in-1 design and performance fabric technology as the beloved original bra, but the new designs supporting breast cancer awareness are only available for purchase in October (breast cancer awareness month). It was also noted that the special edition bras are named after five breast cancer patients and a specific word, which were chosen by each of the women, are printed on the bra. These are the following:
- The Anne Bra: Strength
- The Lindsay Bra: Transform
- The Judith Bra: Heart
- The Anita Bra: Victory
- The Munira Bra: Resilience
Joanna Griffiths, Chief Knixpert at Knix Wear, stated:
“As a company dedicated to creating garments for women that focus on empowerment and positivity, we are thrilled to share the stories of these five strong, incredible patients. Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a very important cause to our team and many of our customers. After we launched the Evolution Bra we heard from women that the bra is a perfect fit for people who have had breast-related surgeries, such as mastectomies, because of the lack of underwire. We could not be more thrilled to support this cause and introduce five new designs that not only embody the spirit of the patients, but encourage all women to feel comfortable in their own skin.”
“In addition to the bras, an important component of our campaign is sharing the unfiltered stories of each of the breast cancer patients who helped design the bras. We hope to inspire more women across the world to share their journey; five women, five words five limited edition bras in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.”
The limited edition Evolution Bra designs for Breast Cancer Awareness Month are available in sizes 1-8, which fit women with bra sizes from 32A to 40DDD/E, catering to the needs of women of all shapes and sizes. The bra retails for $50 USD/$60 CAD.
Last year, the company successfully raised $1,551,287 from more than 19,000 backers through Kickstarter and Indiegogo campaigns, surpassing their initial campaign goal of $30,000 by more than 5,000%. The Kickstarter campaign is notably the most funded female and fashion on the crowdfunding platform to date.
