M opened its flagship restaurant, M Threadneedle Street, in November 2014 and opened its second venue, M Victoria Street earlier this year. The chain has already received the various awards such as Best Use of Technology The Cateys 2016, Best Young Chef UK & Ireland 2016, San Pellegrino Awards, Best for Steak and Seafood, Tatler Restaurant Guide., Best New Restaurant, Harpers Awards, Top 15 UK Healthiest Restaurants, Men’s Health ‘Epicure., Best UK Sommelier, Zack Charilaou Harpers Awards, and ‘Diner Choice’ Award 27 times Winner, Open Table (since 2015).
Funds from the Seedrs initiative will be used to build its new M Social restaurant along with build and open a 50 cover M Den Private Member Lounge, which will be located in M Threadneedle Street’s basement. The company stated it expects its first “M Social” venue to be a new 100 cover “Butlers Wharf” style building that will be complete with a riverside view and outside terrace.
During a recent interview, founder and chief executive of M, Martin Williams stated:
“Our success has been built on making fine wines and world-class steaks accessible; I wanted to reflect that in our fundraising and to invite our fantastic regular guests the opportunity to be a shareholder in their favorite restaurant. The appetite for buying a slice of M has been phenomenal – we thought the raise would take six weeks – not 60 hours!”
The campaign is set to close at the beginning of December.
