Brief: Copenhagen Fintech Hub Officially Opens

Financial Services Union Denmark, the City of Copenhagen and the Danish Bankers Association announced the opening of the new fintech hub, Copenhagen Fintech

CopenhagenCopenhagen Fintech is described as a non-profit association open to companies and organizations with interests within the fintech area. The hub was notably established in September and develops research, innovation,and education within financial technology. Companies that participate in Copenhagen Fintech are able to access five focus areas within the hub. These are fintech entrepreneurship; platforms, payments, and usability; cybersecurity in finance; digital processes; and computational financial.

Speaking about the new center, Vibeke Rittmann from Financial Services Union Denmark, revealed the hub has appointed Thomas Krogh Jensen from Nordea as its new CEO. Ritmann reportedly added:

“With Thomas, we are getting a visionary and dynamic CEO with the right competences and the drive that is needed to realise Copenhagen FinTech’s ambitions of establishing strong ties between entrepreneurs, the financial sector and the research world.”
