Fitness Platform WeTRAIN Seeks £600,000 During Seedrs Campaign

Last week, fitness platform WeTRAIN launched its equity crowdfunding on Seedrs, with a mission to raise £600,000. The app launched earlier this summer and successfully rolled out its platform in three locations and established itself as a sociable exercise solution.

wetrain-1The app reportedly allows  local ‘hosts,’ such as  personal trainers, yoga instructors, and team Great Britain athletes,  to list their classes on its platform. Users can then browse, book, share, and split the price. The company noted is it planning to also launch a premium exercise concept, WeEXPERIENCE, which is described as a first of its kind fitness-brunch which takes working out and socializing with friends to a whole new level.

Adrian Mooney, WeTRAIN’s CEO and co-founder, stated:

“Our mission is to help people ‘exercise their social life’ and change the way people workout. WeTRAIN has huge potential within a fitness industry worth £62 billion globally and, by creating a credible alternative to other social activities, we also tap into the leisure market. WeTRAIN is proven to work, now we want to replicate our launch success in other parts of London and continue to challenge the status quo with our innovative WeEXPERIENCE offering. We are excited to free more Londoners from out-dated, restrictive membership models, help increase fitness professionals’ earnings by maximising their spare capacity and offer our customers the opportunity to be part of our future success by owning shares in the business through Seedrs.”

Funds from the Seedrs campaign will be used to expand its business and launch WeEXPERIENCE. Since its launch, the initiative has successfully secured more than £400,000 from 30 investors. It is set to close at the beginning of the year.
