On Tuesday, crowdfunding platform GoFundMe announced the winner of its #GoBeyond Giving Challenge. The contest was launched last month on the funding portal for those in need, community improvement projects, or a charity. The $10,000 donation will go to Two Rabbits, a nonprofit international preschool program founded by four Harvard graduate students that brings pre-K education to some of the world’s most underserved populations.

Gift GivingTo sign up for the contest, all entries had to the following:

  1. Start a GoFundMe for someone in need, a community project, or a charity.
  2. Add the hashtag #GoBeyondGiving to the campaign description and tell the platform why you are giving thanks by helping out.
  3. Share the campaign on social media to start raising money.

Sarah Strader, founder of Two Rabbits, stated:

“We are so thrilled and honored to win the #GoBeyondGiving challenge. GoFundMe has been our fuel and inspiration as we’ve worked to bring preschool education to children in Cameroon and Myanmar. The $10,000 will help us make our educational plans a reality and enable us to send staff to the field to bring joyful learning to these fantastic students.”

GoFundMe CEO Rob Solomon added:

“We couldn’t be happier to give this well-earned donation to Two Rabbits. Sarah and her team have shown it’s possible to help people in places as far away as Cameroon and Myanmar by harnessing the power of social fundraising. We can’t wait to see how they change the worlds of their bright young students in 2017 and beyond.”
