All By Mama, an online marketplace that’s dedicated to parent-run businesses, is set to close its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube, later today. The company has successfully secured its initial £75,000 funding target and is now nearing £76,500.
Launched in 2014 by Gemma Whates, All By Mama currently features more than 2,000 products and has over 200 sellers. The company noted it has spent the past two years testing out its concept along with building its seller and consumer bases.
“We currently work with over 200 sellers and feature over 2,000 products. We’ve built an engaged social audience and database of 30,000 people. There are currently c.300,000 Mumpreneurs in the UK alone, who are currently contributing £7.4bn to the economy each year. We believe we are the first marketplace to champion parent-run businesses and are passionate about supporting mums who run their business flexibly around family life.”
Since its launch, All By Mama has received various awards, including Pantene’s #SHINESTRONG Business Award judged by Baroness Karren Brady, and Jacqueline Gold’s #WOW Award. The company also noted it has been in contacts with both Australian and American sellers along with customers and is planning to expand internationally. Funds from the campaign will be used for marketing as well as growing All By Mama’s seller and customer based.
