FSS, a payment and fintech firm that is based in India, announced on Monday the launch its Payments Productathon, an exclusive payment-focused contest. The event is set to be hosted by FSS, in association with NASSCOM along with TiE and Chennai.
According to FSS, the contest is aimed at fostering innovative and disruptive ideas from developers, entrepreneurs, banking & finance industry professionals, and students to simplify payments and go cashless. Participating teams will reportedly compete to provide innovative ideas and solutions demonstrating their coding and design skills, to address the existing payment challenges.
Suresh Rajagopalan, President of Software Products at FSS, stated:
“As the leading payments technology provider to Banks and Financial Institutions across the globe, we are constantly working towards solving existing payments challenges faced by our clients. We have launched this unique contest with Payments as the focus and have thrown it open for both tech and non-tech teams, so that we get innovative and disruptive ideas from fresh young thinkers and domain experts. We encourage anyone and everyone who has a smart idea / solution to participate and to create next generation Payments.”
The contest will be run online for twelve weeks during which, winning ideas would be chosen, and the teams will be mentored by a panel of payments technology experts to better their ideas/solutions. Winning teams will be awarded cash prizes of up to INR 500,000 and an opportunity to further develop with FSS.
