AllBright announced on Thursday its online funding platform is now live. The portal revealed all funding would go towards female-led companies throughout the UK. AllBright also debuted three campaigns for Catherine Gazzoli at Piccolo, Caroline Plumb at Fluidly, and Romanie Thomas at Juggle Jobs.
Along with the platform going live, AllBright revealed its report, which showcases the landscape for female entrepreneurs across the globe. It also showed that in comparison to other European Union countries with similar economies the UK has an above average level of female engagement in entrepreneurial activities. Unfortunately, the percentage of women in the UK who cite it as their primary source of income is significantly lower than the percentage of women in non-EU countries, including Canada, the U.S., and Australia. Co-founder of AllBright, Anna Jones, stated:
“It’s promising to see that so many women are engaging in entrepreneurship on many differing levels. But the report shows that there is still more to be done to foster a nurturing environment that encourages more women to see entrepreneurship as a viable career option, and encourages those women that already have businesses to scale and turn their companies into world-class empires. Part of building a nurturing environment is helping female founders to raise finance and provide access to supporting services. AllBright exists solely to address these issues. Our ambition for this year is for AllBright to do everything in its power to ensure that Britain becomes the best place in the world to be a female founder.”
AllBright’s other co-founder, Debbie Wosskow, then added:
“Female-led crowdfunding is an area that has been under explored to date but the research proves crowdfunding is an attractive opportunity and good bet for both female-led entrepreneurs looking for finance and investors looking for companies to back,” concludes.”
