“Stranger Things” Star Finn Wolfhard Launches Indiegogo Campaign For Western Playdate Music Video

Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard recently launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo with a mission to raise $6,500 for his new music video, which he will be directing alongside with film student Josh Ovalle.

The music video’s description reads:

“A Western of sorts set in modern day suburbia is where we meet Spike (14 years old), who sets out to save beautiful Emily (14 years old), from her abusive household. Their amazing night is only to be cut short by her horrible father. The duel to follow between boy and man will decide Emily’s fate once and for all.”

While sharing details about the project, Wolfhard and Ovalle stated:

We’re really drawn to Westerns like “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly,” because the characters are so bad ass, super interesting, and iconic.  The conflict is also so intense- classic stand offs, back stabbing, etc. So as teenagers, bringing this genre into our modern world, how would that translate into a suburban neighborhood? And how would a teenaged vigilante, played by Finn, look like? We think this is a really cool, unexplored concept that would be really fun and interesting to see through.”

Those who back the project will receive various perks, including a visit on set ($2,000), behind the scene video ($50), credit in the film ($100), signed prop from the film ($200), and a Skype call with the directors ($250). Estimate delivery is March and April 2017. Since its launch, the campaign has secured its initial $6,500 funding target and is nearing $7,200 thanks to more than 75 backers. It is set to close in March.
