Former Natwest Exec Joins Thincats

Former Natwest executive John Brooks is the latest hire to join ThinCats, a leader in the alternative lending industry.

Brooks spent 42 years working with UK businesses at Natwest – 30 years of which he spent working within different areas of the SME market. In the past 12 years Brooks has specialized in the professional services sector in Natwest and his clients have included solicitors, accountants, insolvency practitioners, property managers and architects with turnovers of up to £50 million.

“I was interested in the new environment of alternative lending, and ThinCats stood out,” commented Brooks on his joining the firm. “The business understands the value of human beings – actually listening to the story behind the business – rather than it being just a transactional platform.”

Damon Walford, CDO at ThinCats, said they were delighted to welcome Brooks into the growing team at ThinCats.

“He joins us at a very exciting time; Q2 of 2017 is going to be a mammoth quarter. May was a record month, and the running total is at almost £15 million already in the quarter. With an incredibly diverse pipeline of loans in prospect, the second quarter of 2017 may well be going down in the ThinCats record books, and the continuing expansion of the team will only help this continue,” said Walford.

In his new role as Origination Manager, John will be building the company’s loan origination capacity in London and the South East.
