Producer Mychal Simka and Executive Producer Bart Baker have recently launched a Reg CF campaign through Indiegogo/Microventure’s equity crowdfunding platform for the new animated feature films, Adventures of Bunny Bravo and Un Conejo de Huevos, which are films about a loveable misfit rabbit who journeys to save Easter Island.
Adventures of Bunny Bravo is a story about a bunny named Bravo. Its description reads:
“Bravo never does anything right and, to make things worse, his little brother (Taquito) is the ‘chosen one,’ which means he will be the Easter Bunny when he grows up. Bravo has one job ─ to watch over and protect his little brother ─ which turns out to be more difficult than it seems. Taquito has a knack for getting lost, and the evil Cat Queen has her mind set on having the Easter Bunny under her powers. The adventure begins when Taquito is kidnapped by the Cat Queen’s henchmen. Bravo and his band of unlikely animal heroes (a dog, a pig, a frog, and a turtle) must go on a journey to rescue him. Along the way, Bravo learns about love between species when he himself falls in love with a cute cat named Cat, and he finds courage when he stands up to the powers of evil in order to set his brother free and save Easter forever.”
Simka, who has produced 14 animated features since 2013, recently produced Huevos: Little Rooster’s Egg-cellent Adventure and Un Gallo Con Muchos Huevos, which were distributed by Lionsgate and earned more than $9 million during U.S. release. Speaking of the films, Simka stated:
“We are all thrilled to have a creative producer like Bart on the team who is so tuned in to the kids and teen media landscape. He brings an incredible fanbase and network of influencers which complements our actors and performers from the Disney and Nickelodeon worlds. This is really an ideal team for creating family entertainment hits.”
Barker is described as an American entertainer, web-based comedian, video producer, and artist. He is best known for his short videos on Vine and Live.ly. He commented:
“Mychal and I have been planning to do something in the entrepreneurial space for a long time. I think this is the direction media and entertainment is going, similar to the way phone apps are replacing traditional business models.”
Cast of Adventures of Bunny Bravo includes Katherine McNamara, Gregg Sulkin, Drake Bell, Jason Mewes, Cheri Oteri, Steve Guttenberg, and Carlos PenaVega. Funds from the campaign, which is set to close later this summer, will be used to continue the film’s production.
